I think this can be resolved by good documentation within the code base and Atlassian, google docs, READMEs, etc. Yes this assumes you believe in documentation. Anti-Hype definitely believes in documenting code and establishing data quality best practices... Maybe a better integrated ML backed documentation software could be pitched to companies who chose to go open source!
